U14's win 2007-2008 playoffs
The first match was against the Devils with face-off at
Our team was as follows (in alphabetical order) Jack Alexander, Luke
& Dale Campbell, Michael and Andy Creane, Neill Flannigan, Ross & Danny
Jordan, Matthew Martin and Johnathan Thompson. Michael scored the first goal assisted by Luke. Dale did a powerful slapshot but it deflected of the top right corner. Unlucky Dale . There were many shots on goal from both sides and Jack had many great saves but just let one slip through.
Ross then scored the winning goal.
But then there was a touch of madness. Matthew was sent to the sin bin
and the Devils had a power play. We were winning 2-1 and our boys were so hyped
up they just kept attacking trying to score. They forgot the basic rule of
DEFENCE, DEFENCE, DEFENCE durying a penalty but they were lucky and the Devils
failed to score.
Risky Boys! But very exciting to watch .
The Devils and ECB pulled out of the playoffs as they did not have
enough players which meant the Badgers went straight through to the Finals. U14 Playoff Final between Chiefs and the Badgers
The boys were on a high after beating the Devils and Michael scored
within the first 2 minutes, quickly followed by Ross literally 10 seconds
later. That was it ! There was no stopping them ! Matthew scored the next goal
with, in his own words “a fluke” but hey
they all count Matthew. Well done.
After that the scoring was so fast I couldn’t keep up. We definitely
dominated the puck but the Badgers did have quite a few shots on goal and Jack
saved every one. It was a shot out finishing score being 10 – 0.
The goals were as follows:
Michael scored 1
Ross scored 1
Dale scored 4, one assisted by his brother Luke and one by Danny.
Matthew scored 2
Luke scored 1
Andy scored 1
A special WELL DONE to the
following players who played 4 games in a row for the U12’s and U14’s giving
everything they had– Jack Alexander, Andy Creane, Luke Campbell , Danny Jordan
and Johnathen Thompson.
Well done to Matthew for keeping your COOL !
And we really enjoyed your wave Michael ! (you had to be there)
Great hockey boys. The photo
says it all !
